This washcloth is made using Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Yarn

The Star Stitch

Beginning Star: Ch 3. Insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, yo, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook). Insert hook into next ch, yo, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Insert hook into first st, yo, pull up a loop (4 loops on hook). Insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop (5 loops on hook). Insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop (6 loops on hook). Yo, pull through all 6 loops. Ch 1 to close star.


Star Stitch: Insert hook into ch-1 sp of star just made, yo, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook). Insert hook into side of star, yo, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Insert hook into st at base of star, yo, pull up a loop (4 loops on hook). Insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop (5 loops on hook). Insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop (6 loops on hook). Yo, pull through all 6 loops. Ch 1 to close star.


sc 3rd Loop: to work into the 3rd Loop, work in the loop behind the top V of the indicated st.




Soap Saver Bag Instructions 


Ch 13

Round 1: sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st until you have 1 st remaining, in the last st work 3 sc, working the other side of the beginning ch, 1 sc in each st across until you have 1 st remaining, in the last st work 2 sc, sl st to the first st of the round. 26 sc


Round 2: ch 1, 1 hdc next 12 sts, 3 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next 12 sts, 3 hdc in the last st. Sl st to the first st of the round. 30 hdc


Round 3: ch 3, working in the 3rd loop, work beg star st, work star st around. Sl st to join. 15 star sts


Tip

When finishing the Star ST rounds. Finish the last Star ST by drawing up the last loop of the ST in the first ST of the round. By working the last stitch this way, you will avoid having holes in your cowl.


Round 5: ch 3, working in the 3rd loop, work beg star st, work star st around. Sl st to join. 15 star sts


Round 6: ch 1, 2 hdc in each eye (ch 1 that closed the star st) of the star st from the previous round. 30 hdc


Round 7: ch 3, working in the 3rd loop, work beg star st, work star st around. Sl st to join. 15 star sts


Round 8: ch 1, 2 hdc in each eye (ch 1 that closed the star st) of the star st from the previous round. 30 hdc


Round 9: ch 3, working in the 3rd loop, work beg star st, work star st around. Sl st to join. 15 star sts


Round 10: ch 1, 2 hdc in each eye (ch 1 that closed the star st) of the star st from the previous round. 30 hdc


Round 11: ch 1, sc 3rd loop around. 30 sc


Round 12: ch 1, *hdc, ch 1, sk 1 rep from * around 15 hdc, 15 ch 1 sps

Fasten off. Weave in ends.


Ties: Ch 50. Fasten off. Weave tie in and out of the ch 1 spaces of round 14.
